Are Atheists weak minded people?

When I first heard about Atheism I thought it was insightful and revolutionary. But after doing some research I think it is for people that feel ostracized from their family or society. When I ask them about why they think the way they do they all parrot the same responses about not making claims, not having to offer an argument and so on. Do they realize how silly and hypocritical they sound?
