New Humidor Trouble, Need more Humidity?

so i just bought a new humidor and i watched a whole bunch of videos and think i prepared it correctly. I lightly wet the wood, soaked the green sponge humidifyer, even put a shot glass filled with water in there . Its been sitting for two maybe three days now and its still only 50 % humidity am i do anything wrong or does it take longer
